This enhancement is permanent and stable and does not require any special care beyond what is recommended for untreated sapphires. Reputable jewelers disclose heat treatment openly, and it is widely regarded as a standard process that enhances beauty without affecting durability.

Untreated blue sapphires, meaning stones that have not undergone any form of enhancement, are exceptionally rare and typically command significantly higher prices due to their natural, unaltered state.
